Indian defeat in the World Cup final represents cricket’s victory: Abdul Razzaq

A few days after making a derogatory remark about a well-known Bollywood actress and then apologizing, former Pakistani all-rounder Abdul Razzaq has now offered an analysis of the Indian cricket team’s performance in the World Cup final, stating that the sport ultimately triumphed.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-286623″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-indian-defeat-in-the-world-cup-final-represents-crickets-victory-abdul-razzaq-down.jpg” alt=”theindiaprint.com indian defeat in the world cup final represents crickets victory abdul razzaq down” width=”1283″ height=”854″ title=”Indian defeat in the World Cup final represents cricket's victory: Abdul Razzaq 3″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-indian-defeat-in-the-world-cup-final-represents-crickets-victory-abdul-razzaq-down.jpg 275w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-indian-defeat-in-the-world-cup-final-represents-crickets-victory-abdul-razzaq-down-150×100.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 1283px) 100vw, 1283px” />

Razzaq made the absurd accusation that the Indian cricket team was taking undue advantage of their home ground as hosts, adding that cricket’s greatest achievement was Australia’s victory in the World Cup final.

Razzaq began his analysis of India’s performance in the World Cup final by saying, “Indians were over-confident (in the final).”

“If you don’t play cricket, then you won’t be able to play it.” If these prerequisites are met, they can be used effectively; otherwise, they won’t be. If India fails to win the cricket match, then it will be India’s loss. Fair pitches, a fair environment, and a balance between the teams are all present in this game. India has an edge, to be sure. (If I’m being really honest, cricket won today. The circumstances were being exploited by the host nation. Cricket shown that daring teams are favored. I would have been devastated had India prevailed. Fairness in the pitches and environment is expected. Both teams should have equal weight. Even at the end, India attempted to gain an edge,” Razzaq said on Pakistan’s Geo TV.

Australia had won the toss and, against popular belief, had chosen to let India to bat before limiting them for 240 runs during Sunday’s World Cup final in Ahmedabad. But courtesy to Travis Head’s 120-ball 137 and a half-century off Marnus Labuschagne, Australia—who were unusually the underdogs in a World Cup final—captured their sixth cup, proving Pat Cummins was correct in his crucial call.

Razzaq went on to say that India would have won the game and their third World Cup victory if Virat Kohli, who was removed at 54, had hit an additional century.

The ground at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, which was the same one used for the highly anticipated group stage match between India and Pakistan, according to Pakistan bowler Mohammad Amir, who was also a panelist, was unsuitable for a match of the magnitude of a World Cup final.
