Practically Constructed ‘Wonka’ Production Design Shared by Timothee Chalamet

A Hollywood actor named Timothee Chalamet, who is eager for his next movie, “Wonka,” to come out, said that the production design of the picture was almost entirely created for it.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-293538″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-202311293089356-11zon-750×422.jpg” alt=”theindiaprint.com 202311293089356 11zon” width=”1317″ height=”741″ title=”Practically Constructed 'Wonka' Production Design Shared by Timothee Chalamet 9″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-202311293089356-11zon-750×422.jpg 750w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-202311293089356-11zon-768×432.jpg 768w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-202311293089356-11zon-390×220.jpg 390w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-202311293089356-11zon-150×84.jpg 150w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-202311293089356-11zon.jpg 777w” sizes=”(max-width: 1317px) 100vw, 1317px” />

The actor said, “Basically, we shot no scenes with a green screen,” in reference to the same. It was incredible how everything was literally created. It felt like entering this magical world that Paul King had realized and that David Hayman had stewarded—who famously stewarded ‘Harry Potter,’ ‘Barbie,’ and these other movies that have very distinct palettes, sets, and feelings to three them—every day when I arrived on the Leavesden set and began shooting in London, where I had never shot before.

“So, this was one of these really magical sets to walk on,” Timothee said. Each every batch you encountered provided something different. Nathan Crowley, a production designer who has worked on films such as “Interstellar,” performed an outstanding job.

“Olivia Colman is tremendous in the movie and totally gave herself over to the evilness of playing her character, Mrs. Scrubitt,” the actor stated, describing his experience of working with Olivia Colman on the project. Seeing her give herself up to that tone so freely was very useful to me as Wonka because it let me realize that we were very much creating a narrative in a certain way. She’s just amazing. She is one of my favorite actors of the last several years and exudes such amazing energy. She’s also a complete pleasure to deal with.

The actor provided insight into the preparations he made for the movie by stating, “I worked closely with Eric Vetro, a vocal coach based in Los Angeles who is renowned for helping actors prepare for their musical projects, as well as James Taylor, who served as the movie’s music supervisor. I got three months’ notice to prepare and worked extensively with Chris Gattelli, the film’s choreographer, first in New York and then in Leavesden.

In the three months before the movie, he said, “we had dance rehearsals at Leavesden, vocal rehearsals at Leavesden, and occasionally Zoom lessons with Eric Vetro, Monday through Friday, nine to five.”

Warner Bros. India’s “Wonka” opens in IMAX theaters on December 8.
